Journalists have learned that former Pitmen coach Roberto De Zerbi wants to see the defender at Brighton.

Not just Mikhail Mudrik. Another top player could leave Shakhtar in the near future. We are talking about Nikolai Matvienko. The fact is that Brighton have been actively interested in the leader of the Pitmen’s defense.

The new Seagulls coach, Roberto De Zerbi, wants to have one of his former subordinates at his disposal.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, De Zerbi is well aware of Matvienko’s abilities and appreciates his potential, so Brighton are close to approaching Shakhtar with an official offer.

De Zerbi is “determined to get a left centre-back” who could cost around €20m, the source said.

If the management of Brighton agrees with the initiative of the Italian coach and approves it, the English club will try to get the player in the next transfer window – in January 2023.

Remember, earlier this winter it was known that Shakhtar could lose their winger Mykhailo Mudrik, who is actively interested in PSG.
