The trial will continue on Tuesday, November 1
Goloseevsky District Court of Kyiv began to consider the application Prosecutor General’s Office in the case of corruption in UAF.
The prosecution asks for the person involved in the case, UAF Secretary General Yuriy Zapisotsky, a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
However, it was not possible to start considering the application due to the lack of electricity due to another rocket attack on the capital. Judge Ekaterina Plahotniuc adjourned the hearing to tomorrow, November 1.
Zapisotsky, together with the head of the UAF Andrey Pavelko, I spent several days on a working trip dedicated to work on the preparation of a joint application by Ukraine, Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup.
Before going abroad, Zapisotsky was handed a suspicion from the Prosecutor General’s Office for corruption schemes in the UAF. The process took place at 02:00 at night when the functionary crossed the border with Poland.
It should be noted that the National Police of Ukraine confirmed a search in Pavelko’s house – it took place on October 18. It is noteworthy that Pavelko is listed as a “witness” in criminal proceedings.
The head of the UAF has previously denied conducting searches in his own house. However, the head of the UAF stressed that behind-the-scenes games “with a Russian trace” are being played, the purpose of which is to remove the current leadership of the Association.
The case referred to in the suspicion concerns the theft of UAF funds. However, in a statement, the Association believes that this is a commissioned work from the former leaders of the association.
Representatives of the UAF and Ukrainian football legends Oleg Protasov and Anatoly Demyanenko have already spoken out in support of Zapisotsky.
In 2018, the Schemes program conducted an investigation, as a result of which journalists suspected the UAF and its president Andriy Pavelko of corruption through a factory for the production of artificial fields.
