On Friday, Sokolniki organized a football tournament for veterans in honor of the legendary striker “Spartacus “and the national team of the USSR, the first vice-president of the RFU Nikita Simonyan .
Spartak’s press service announced the event. Simonyan, 96, received a T-shirt with the number 96 on the back.
“Spartak General Manager Evgeny Melezhikov together with Oleg Ivanovich Romantsev congratulated the legendary Spartak player and presented a special club t-shirt,” the post read.
Simonyan is Spartak’s all-time top scorer, scoring 160 goals for the team. He is quadruple champion of the USSR and Olympic champion in 1956.
