FTC RFU chief says coach Khimki Gogniev’s disqualification not appealable

Disqualification of the head coach “Khimki” Spartak Gogniev for inappropriate behavior during the WORLD RPL Round 15 match against Moscow “Dynamo” cannot be challenged, said Artur Grigoryants, head of the Football Union of Russia’s (FTC RFU) Control and Disciplinary Committee.

During the break in the match, which took place on Saturday and ended with the victory of the “whites and blues” with the score of 6-1, Gogniev received a red card for arguing with the referee. Later, the specialist, leaving for the hall under the stands, rudely complained to commentator Sergey Durasov for questions in the pre-match flash interview. The FTC suspended Gogniev for three games. In addition, the specialist was fined 200,000 rubles for unsportsmanlike behavior.

“Gogniev’s fine can be appealed, but the disqualification cannot,” Grigoryants told reporters.

Khimki is 15th in the standings with nine points. In the next two matches of the RPL, the club from the Moscow region will play with Orenburg (November 4) and Sochi (November 13).
