Ex-Tula football player “Arsenal” Predrag Kashchelan feels he couldn’t shine in Russia due to injuries.
Kashchelan played for Arsenal in February-July 2014.
– Why didn’t you manage to get a foothold at Arsenal? You only have a few games for the team.
“I still can’t handle this. Unfortunately, luck was not on my side and things didn’t go as planned. In six matches, I entered the field and in two others, I joined the team. We had a fight for entry into the RPL at stake, but during one of the training sessions my nose broke, at the same time I was “rewarded” with a concussion. Suddenly, my health did not allow me to show my best football, which I regret.
– In the summer of 2014, was there an opportunity to stay in Tula or was it necessary to leave for Dzerzhinsk in Khimik?
– I missed almost half of the season. My agents and Arsenal representatives agreed that it was best for me to spend six months at Khimik on loan in order to get fit and get into the rhythm of the game. In Dzerzhinsk everything started well, the season went started fast, but then I got badly injured – and that was it for me.
People just didn’t believe it was happening to me, but I took a long time to recover, several months. “Khimik” could not control my transfer in the end, I was too expensive for him. I had to say goodbye to Russia, even though I still couldn’t come to terms with the fact that I couldn’t finish what I started in your country. But it looked like luck was so close, Kashchelan told Metaratings.ru.
Kashchelan played for Dzerzhinsky Khimik from July 2014 to April 2015.
