Mbappe, Giroud, Griezmann and Varane in French squad for 2022 World Cup

France will play in the same group with Australia, Denmark and Tunisia at the 2022 World Cup

France announced line-up for world championship 2022.

National team coach Laurent Blanc included 25 players in the list. Among them are 2022 Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, PSG forward Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Chuameni.

Manchester United center back Raphael Varane is also on Le Bleu’s roster. The player will have time to recover for the world championship after an injury to the back of the thigh.

Note that two leading players will not help the French in the 2022 World Cup at once: Chelsea midfielder Ngolo Kante and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

The media also reported that after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the well-known coach Zinedine Zidane will take over as Le Bleu’s mentor. At the same time, the appointment of a specialist does not depend on the results of the French team at the World Cup.

France are the reigning world champions. At the 2018 championship in Russia, the team of Didier Deschamps beat Croatia (4:2) in the decisive match.

In the group stage of the 2022 World Cup, France will play in the same quartet with Australia, Denmark and Tunisia.
