Dani Alves commented on criticism over his inclusion in the final national team bid Brazil for the next World Cup in Qatar.
“I’ve lived my whole life under oppression and I just got to where I am now. It takes courage to resist whatever comes your way, to be, to exist and to resist. I encourage you to do the same. To live trying to destroy other people’s dreams is to live to destroy your own,” the footballer wrote on social media.
Dani Alves, 39, could become Brazil’s oldest World Cup player. Previously, the Brazilian national team record holder participated in the 1966 tournament Jalma Santos at the age of 37.
The World Cup in Qatar is scheduled from November 20 to December 18. Brazil will play in the same group with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.
