Series B and IFAD are fighting hunger and poverty together. Lehi’s communiqué

The next day of the championship, the BKT series takes to the field with various initiatives in support of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations with world headquarters in Rome, in its mandate to reduce poverty, improve food safety, improve food quality and build community resilience in rural areas of developing countries.

Day 13 in particular will see some awareness raising activities in stadiums, with videos on large screens, creative LEDs and speaker messages, and for spectators from home with pre-match graphics and stickers to be applied. on uniform during the interview.

The collaboration with IFAD further demonstrates the Serie B League’s focus on charitable, territorial and health issues.

IFAD is the only global organization dedicated to transforming agriculture, the rural economy and food systems through public and private investment, the promotion of agricultural innovation and dialogue among the various actors involved in rural development.

This work is of increasing importance given the current global food crisis and the growing need to finance climate change adaptation for small farmers in poor countries, the hardest hit and least able to cope with the effects of the climate crisis.

“We recognize the growing contribution of sport to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Development Agenda. One of the challenges we are working on at IFAD is to advance action to combat the climate crisis, which is clearly affecting our ability to produce food. We must act now. We will fail if we do not help small farmers adapt to climate change, and for this, developed countries must invest more to support the work of IFAD. For this reason, we are very pleased to partner with Lega Serie B and we greatly appreciate your strong support in spreading our message,” he said. Alvaro LarioIFAD President.

“It is a great honor for the Serie B League to start a partnership with a UN agency that only came into existence last year,” emphasizes the President of the League B. Mauro Balata – Through donations and low-interest loans to finance projects in developing countries, it has improved the lives of about 130 million people worldwide, thereby making a significant contribution to the fight against hunger and poverty, especially in rural areas. I thank IFAD for believing in this partnership, Liga B continues its journey in promoting social activities, aware of the responsibility due to the large number of followers at the national and international level.

IFAD’s work – IFAD works where poverty and hunger are most entrenched: in the most remote regions of developing countries and in conditions of the greatest instability, creating platforms for cooperation between public and private organizations that operate at the global, national, regional and local levels. In addition, it directly contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

Through IFAD’s investments in rural communities and small and medium-sized enterprises around the world, communities in difficult situations can improve their lives, achieve greater food safety and quality, and be able to live in dignity and prosper.

IFAD works with governments, the private sector, civil society organizations and other development partners and uses a range of tools to address the most problematic countries.

These days, IFAD is playing a key role at COP 27 in Egypt to raise the voice of small rural producers who produce a third of the world’s food but do not receive even 2% of climate change adaptation funds.

This vision is also shared by the LNPB, which has made specific commitments by promoting and implementing, among other things, the “B for Peace” project in all Italian cities and on the fields of the BKT series: through awareness-raising work and cooperation with clubs and fans, food and essentials for people affected by the conflict.
