Yellow-red derby in Lviv, lucky Dynamo threes – the main results of the 12th round of the UPL

Penultimate “zeros”

In the standings of the championship, the teams did not have zeros left in the “victory” column. In the 12th round, Ingulets, who sensationally outplayed Zorya (1:0), and Chernomorets, who won against Minai, won their first championship victories. The team from Petrovoe needed 10 matches for the first victory of the season, the Odessa team needed 11.

Now there are two teams left with zeros in the table: the leaders of the championship – Dnipro-1 and Shakhtar – have not yet lost in the Premier League.

Dynamo went on a cruising course?

The capital club, having beaten Alexandria, has already won the third victory in a row in the championship. This is a repeat of the best white-blue series this season. True, with one caveat: if during the first winning period Dynamo scored five goals in three matches, now it is nine, three goals in each.

Now the people of Kiev have 18 goals scored, the same number – for Alexandria, more – for Zorya and Shakhtar (23 each) and Dnipro-1 (27).

Penalties are trending

The second round in a row we fix a large number of 11-meter. Yes, to the indicators of the 11th round, in which the teams punched nine penalties in eight matches, the 12th almost fell short, but the numbers are still impressive. In eight fights, the referees pointed to the point 7 times: five attempts were successful, two were not.

For comparison, in the first three rounds, when a total of 22 matches were played, the referee appointed nine penalty kicks. In five rounds out of 12, the number of penalties did not exceed two. Another one – the eighth – did without 11-meter ones at all.

It is difficult to say what is the reason for the increased number of penalties. Whether it is the referees began to react more strictly to controversial situations in the penalty area, giving advantage to the attackers. Whether it’s just the qualification of domestic referees leads to such an interpretation of the episodes. For example, it was in the match of the last round Alexandria – Kolos, when, according to the clarification of the committee of arbitrators, three out of four penalties were assigned incorrectly.

Hot Lviv derby and harvest tour

The “hottest” match of the tour is the Lviv derby between Lviv and Rukh. 11 yellow cards, one removal – this is the result of the opposition of fellow countrymen. Moreover, both in terms of the territorial location of the teams and the place of birth of their coaches: Lvov’s mentor Oleg Dulub and Rukh’s helmsman Leonid Kuchuk are Belarusians. Lvov was more fortunate: the Citizens got the second victory of the season and left the danger zone.

And in general, the tour turned out to be rich in cards: 46 yellow cards and five red ones – a record figure since the start of the championship.

Dual power in the dispute of scorers

In the Kolosom match, Dnipro-1 forward Artem Dovbik scored his second hat-trick this season. For this attacker took 77 minutes. Three goals allowed Artem to catch up with the best snipers of the current season, Dynamo midfielder Vitaly Buyalsky, who also replenished his scoring list with a scoring shot in the game with Alexandria in this round.

At the moment, Dovbik and Buyalsky have nine goals each. Miner Sikan and Kharkiv Pryadun, who are in third or fourth places, have six goals each in the Ukrainian championship.
