18-year-old Ukrainian remained on the bench
Manchester city lost Brentford (1:2) in the home match of the 16th round English Premier League.
The guests took the lead in the 16th minute of the meeting after an accurate shot by Ivan Tony. At the end of the first half, Phil Foden equalized the score in the match.
After the break, Manchester City had the advantage, but the home team failed to win. And in injury time, Pep Guardiola’s team missed everything – Toni scored his second goal of the match and brought victory to Brentford.
Midfielder Brentford Egor Yarmolyuk spent the entire match on the bench. Recall that this week the 18-year-old Ukrainian made his debut for Brentford in the match with Gillingham in the 1/16 finals of the English League Cup.
Manchester City remained in second place in the Premier League, two points behind Arsenal. The Gunners will play Wolves today (starting at 21:45). Brentford moved up to tenth position.
The Premier League is going on hiatus for the 2022 World Cup. The national championship will resume at the end of the year. Manchester City will play Leeds on December 28, while Brentford will face Tottenham Hotspur on December 26.
