In the Europa League final, the Eagles defeated Rangers on penalties
Eintracht Head Coach Oliver Glasner commented on his team’s victory in Europa League.
In the tournament final, the Eagles defeated Rangers in a shoot-out. The main time of the match and overtime ended in a draw (1:1).
“Incredible! It was our 13th match in Europe and we never lost. I have no words to describe what the guys did in the final and throughout the season, ”Glasner said.
“I am proud of my players and my work. The game turned out exactly as we thought. We had to control the pace of the match. We did a great job on the 11m kicks because we had been practicing them for a month.”
“I haven’t thought about the Champions League next season yet. I never talk about the future because I don’t know what will happen in the coming months. I told my players that we had a fantastic journey that should not end in Seville, but when we return home with a trophy.”
Eintracht Frankfurt won the Europa League for the second time in history after winning in 1980 when the tournament was called the UEFA Cup.
Thanks to the Europa League victory, Eintracht will play in the Champions League next season. In the German Championship, Glasner’s team finished in 11th place.
