Manchester United fine Ronaldo nearly $1.2m over outrageous interview – media

Manchester United » intends to penalize the attacking team Cristiano Ronaldo for the outrageous interview he gave to journalist Piers Morgan, reports Metro.

In the document, Ronaldo said he felt “betrayed” by the club and noted that management tried to force him out. Moreover, the 37-year-old Portuguese admitted he didn’t respect head coach Eric Ten Hagu and was angry with him.

According to the publication, Ronaldo faces a fine of around 1 million pounds (around $1.2 million).

In October, the striker was fined two weeks’ wages when he refused to replace Tottenham Hotspur and then retired to the stands before the game was over.

Earlier, Manchester United released a statement as part of Ronaldo’s scandalous interview, with the club saying they would review his response ‘after all the facts are established’.

Ronaldo has scored three goals and provided two assists in 16 appearances in all competitions this season.
