Moroccan midfielder from Marseille Amine Arit was injured in the round of 16 match of the French championship against Monaco and could miss the World Cup in Qatar, according to L’Equipe.
The 25-year-old was injured in the 58th minute of Sunday’s game and left the pitch. Arita reportedly has serious knee problems.
The game against Monaco was the Marseille club’s last meeting before the start of the World Cup in Qatar. The national team tournament will begin on November 20. Arita on Twitter supported morocco national team :
“We wish you a speedy recovery,” the message read.
During the World Cup, the Moroccans will play in Group F with the teams of Belgium, Canada and Croatia.
