Romanian admitted that his contract with the Kyiv club is calculated until 2024
Dynamo head coach Mircea Lucescu stated that he had no plans to leave the Kyiv club in the face of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In an interview with the Romanian media, Lucescu confirmed that he received an offer from Fenerbahce, but in the current situation, he is not even considering leaving Dinamo.
The Romanian coach noted that his contract with the people of Kiev is calculated until 2024, although last year it was reported that it was extended until 2023.
“Will I leave Dynamo next summer? I have a contract until 2024 and I can’t leave the team in this chaos. I have proposals, very serious… There was an offer from Fenerbahce. But at the moment, all this is irrelevant, ”Lucescu admitted.
“I cannot leave Dynamo in the current situation. No way. That would be cowardice. Plus, I’ve been through everything in football, including wars. But I have never had a situation where I could play in European competitions without matches in the championship. I need an important match every week.”
Lucescu took charge of Dynamo in 2020. Under his leadership, the people of Kiev won the championship, the Cup and the Super Cup of Ukraine, and also played twice in the group stage of the Champions League.
The 2021/22 season in Ukrainian football was ended ahead of schedule due to the Russian attack and the subsequent imposition of martial law in Ukraine. Ukraine resists full-scale Russian invasion 85th day.
