Chernomorets head coach Konstantin Zyryanov called the midfielder of “Zenith” Wendel from St. Petersburg the best player in the Russian Premier League (RPL).
– It is necessary to distinguish among the players who evolve in the team which arrives in first place. Considering there is only one Zenit, I would nominate Wendel. He plays hard enough when he wants, – quotes the words of Zyryanov “KP Sport”.
Wendel joined Zenit from Portuguese side Sporting in October 2020. This season, the footballer has made 17 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
“Zenith” leads the Russian championship standings with 39 points.
