Six more days to pay taxes. This is the government’s November gift that somehow demonstrates a certain amount of attention – never too much, but who knows if Abodi can really make a difference – to the world of football and sports in general. By a decree on aid-quater, published in the Official Gazette a few days ago, the executive branch actually postponed for six days, from December 16 to December 22, the deadlines for the payment of previously suspended contributions. Barring the need for federal intervention to avoid interpretive ambiguity (and we are well aware of how strong they have been in the past), this should allow clubs to bypass, albeit slightly, the dreaded mid-month deadline by avoiding sanctions.
