Dnipro are confidently leading the UPL standings
Forward SK Dnipro-1 Artem Dovbik commented on the strong-willed victory of his team in the central match of the 14th round of the UPL over Shakhtar (2:1). The player stressed that Dnipro-1 has no thoughts about the championship title yet.
“The team played one of their best matches today. We have shown character. Despite personnel losses, we played a very high-quality match, and I want to pay tribute to all the guys. And my job is to score goals and bring victory to the team.”
“We felt we had a lot of chances in the first half, but the ball didn’t go in. Missed an optional goal, but did not lose heart, so to speak. Pikhalenka’s goal gave us more strength.”
“We have two more games before the end of the year, and we need to tune in to them. A lot of players fell out, and if we had a long bench, it would not be so hard. There are many more matches ahead. The championship, as practice shows, is not won in such matches, so we must tune in to every game.
The 25-year-old forward has 15 goals and four assists in 21 matches for Dnepr-1 in all tournaments. In the UPL, Dovbik scored 10 goals in 13 meetings.
Dnipro-1 continues to lead in the standings of the championship of Ukraine. Dnipro are ahead of Shakhtar by 8 points, which is in second place. In the next round of the Ukrainian Championship, Kucher’s team will play against Oleksandriya.
