During the opening ceremony of the 2022 World Cup, the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, made a speech and talked about the motivations for holding the tournament in his country, in addition to the cultural differences of all countries. According to him, all countries are welcome and praised the opportunity to bring together so many cultures.
🇧🇷We welcome everyone to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with open arms. We have worked and made every effort to ensure the success of this edition of the Cup. We invest for the good of all mankind“, he said, highlighting the work done to carry out the tournament that is about to start.
In addition, the emir mentioned 28 days of competition which, according to him, will provide a space for civilization and dialogue, in addition to representing an international football celebration. The different nationalities, cultures, civilizations and orientations that will meet in Qatar were also highlighted.
🇧🇷Finally we arrived at the big day, the opening day, a day expected by many people. And for 28 days, the whole world will follow this celebration of international football, in this space of dialogue and civilization. People, no matter how different they are, different nationalities, different cultures, different orientations, will come together in Qatar, and all continents will come together in our country“, commented.
The 2022 World Cup starts this Sunday, the 20th, and lasts until December 18th, when the grand finale is scheduled. The first game features Qatar itself facing Ecuador, being the only one of the day, since the tournament sequence takes place only on Monday, 21st, with three other games.
