The Rivne club did not realize their chances in the second half
Veres head coach Yuri Wirth commented on the defeat from Dynamo (0:1) in the 14th round of the UPL. The mentor of the Rivne club singled out the dedication of his players.
“First of all, I congratulate Dynamo on the victory. The fighting game is out. In the first half, we played in an organized manner in defense, disciplined, and before the goal was scored, Dynamo had practically no scoring chances.
“We made this scoring chance for ourselves after an unsuccessful out, which we performed, and immediately carried out a scoring attack on our goal. Tsygankov’s performance decided the outcome of the match. After the conceded goal, we started to play more aggressively, put pressure on the opponents, had good possession of the ball, but didn’t create real scoring chances in the first half.”
“In the second half we started to put more pressure on the opponents as we needed to level the score. We have created two points. Vitaliy Dakhnovsky had a good moment when he missed the target after a pass from the flank. There was also a nice set piece that we didn’t use.”
“In the end of the match, of course, Dynamo had an advantage, because we played adventurous football, trying to equalize. We exposed the rear, which was used by Dynamo, who could score the second goal, but Bogdan Kogut saved the goal.
“As for the attitude towards their players, there are no questions. They all gave their strength to the field. We set them up, because we perfectly understood the power of Dynamo. Such an opponent needs to score, counting on 0-0 is very difficult. We have problems in matches against the giants – we can’t open the defense, it’s hard for us to score goals. In terms of defensive actions, I have no complaints against the team, we played in an organized manner, with the exception of the last minutes.
Veres is in seventh place in the UPL standings. In the next round, Wirth’s men will play against Ingulets on November 26.
