Germany sensationally lost Japan (1:2) in the first round of group E World Cup 2022.
Hans-Dieter Flick’s team took the lead in the middle of the first half thanks to the efforts of Ilkay Gundogan, who converted a penalty. Kai Havertz extended Germany’s lead before half-time, but the midfielder’s goal was overruled after watching video replay.
