The Netherlands coach is pleased that he managed to avoid a big loss of points
Team head coach Netherlands Louis van Gaal noted that the fight with Ecuador (1:1) in the second round of the group stage World Cup 2022 went hard for his team.
“We had problems passing the ball to our players. Because Ecuador played hard, the match became very difficult.”
“Despite the fact that we did not play very well, we lost a little. Therefore, I think we managed to achieve a draw. And yet we’re still at the top of the group.”
The Netherlands and Ecuador lead Group A with four points each. Senegal is third with three points. Qatar closes the standings of the quartet.
In the third round, the Netherlands will play with Qatar, and Ecuador with Senegal. Matches will be played on November 29th.
