Argentina v Mexico sets attendance record for 2022 World Cup

Qatar 2022 World Cup group stage second round match between the teams Argentina and Mexico 88,966 spectators attended, which is a record figure for the current tournament, according to the press service of the International Football Federation (FIFA).

It was the highest attendance for a World Cup match since the 1994 World Cup final, when 94,194 spectators attended the Brazil-Italy game in Pasadena, USA.

The Argentina-Mexico match took place in Group C on Saturday. The encounter at the Lusail Aikonik stadium ended with a score of 2-0 in favor of the Argentines.
