Kai scored two goals
Germany midfielder Kai Havertz recognized man of the match against Costa Rica (4:2) in the third round of the group stage World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Havertz entered the field in the 66th minute as a substitute for Thomas Müller and scored two goals. With the score at 1:2, Kai first restored the balance and then put Germany ahead.
Germany took the only victory in the tournament and scored four points. The Bundesteam finished the World Cup in third place, ahead of Spain on the difference between goals scored and conceded.
For the first time in history, Germany did not reach the playoffs for two World Cups in a row. Recall that at the 2018 World Cup, the Germans also did not leave the group.
Kai Havertz put on a show, scoring twice for Germany as they gave everything in the hope the results would fall their way.
