Born on December 22, 1978, Abel Fernando Moreira Ferreira is a well-known football coach in Portuguese and Brazilian football. In addition to his career on the edge of the field, the professional also ventured into the four lines and made a career as a right-back. However, his passage on the pitch was not very successful.
Revealed in the youth team of Penafiel, Abel Ferreira joined the professional team in 1997. After three seasons, the former winger moved to Vitória de Guimarães. There, Abel stayed for about four seasons. Even so, the Portuguese failed to win any title in the first two clubs of his career.
In 2004, he decided to transfer to Braga and left the club a year later. In 2005, Abel Ferreira was hired by Sporting and stayed there until 2011. With more time at the club, the Portuguese won his only four career titles. In 2007 and 2008, he lifted the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira trophy.

Practically 10 months later, the coach played his second final of the tournament in a row and won the historic second championship with Palmeiras. In his personal life, the trainer is very secretive.
