Russian journalists say that the European organization has forgotten about the sanctions.

The European Football Union decided to hold competitions in Russia. This was reported by the TASS agency.

According to journalists, UEFA and the RFU have agreed to hold an international tournament for U-16 youth teams in Volgograd. The competition is reportedly planned to be held in May 2023.

These games should be included in the UEFA development program for boys and girls under 16 years of age.

It is noted that the mitigation of penalties only applies to youth football, but not to adult football. In addition to the fact that organizations are discussing at an unofficial level ways to get Russian football out of sanctions. There was no official statement from the parties.

Recall that UEFA and FIFA suspended Russian clubs and teams in February after a mass invasion in Ukraine.

In particular, the Russian national football team was suspended from participating in the qualification for the World Cup, which was held in Qatar. The Russians will also not see their football team at Euro 2024. UEFA has suspended the national team from participating in the tournament.
