Former Lokomotiv president Olga Smorodskaya has expressed the view that the RFU should not switch to the Asian Football Confederation.
On Friday, the RFU executive committee could consider the issue of Russia’s transition from UEFA to the AFC, but the decision on the matter has been postponed until Tuesday. RFU chief Alexander Dyukov says the majority of Russian clubs and RFU executive committee members support the idea of switching from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
– I think it is not necessary to move to the AFC. My opinion is that we have to wait for the sanctions to be lifted and play where we have always played,” Smorodskaya told .
