Return of the Argentine looks unlikely
The president Barcelona Joan Laporta announced his desire to return to the Pomegranate striker PSG Lionel Messi. At the same time, Laporta admitted that this idea is difficult to implement.
“I would really like the theme with Messi, but we can’t do it in accordance with our expectations. Leo is a PSG player, he won the World Cup, which the Catalans are very happy about, because it was a title that had not previously submitted to him, and he deserved it. … But I don’t want to talk about expectations and reality.”
The current contract with the Argentine is calculated until the end of the current season. At the same time, Messi himself is not opposed to extending the contract with the French club. PSG and Messi will soon negotiate a contract extension.
Earlier, the Parisians offered the Argentine to extend the agreement under the 1 + 1 scheme. Financial conditions remained the same as in the current contract – 30 million euros per year.
Lionel moved to PSG last summer as a free agent. This season, Messi has scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists in 19 matches for Paris.
PSG are top of the Ligue 1 standings. Barcelona are first in La Liga.
