Former Brazilian striker’s family members Pele gathered at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, where the legendary 82-year-old footballer has been staying since the end of November.
Earlier this week, doctors said Pele’s cancer had progressed, adding the ex-footballer was under ‘increased watch’ for ‘kidney and heart failure’.
Edson Nascimento, one of Pelé’s sons, known as Edinho, arrived at the hospital on Saturday.
“He (Edson) is here,” Keli Nascimento, one of Pele’s daughters, wrote on social media, along with a photo of her sitting next to Edson and her two children in the hospital.
Pelé has been hospitalized at Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo since late November for treatment for colon cancer. During treatment, she was diagnosed with a respiratory infection.
Pelé is a triple world champion with Brazil.
