The coach of the youth team of Ukraine, spoke about his decision to defend Kyiv from the invaders.
“I have no doubt about what to do in this war,” Vladimir Yezersky said in an interview with Zbirna.com.
According to the head coach of the youth team of Ukraine, he immediately decided to defend the country from the invaders with weapons in his hands, because he could not do otherwise.
“After my relatives settled in a new place, I immediately made a decision – you have to go to defend your home. I think if you are a Ukrainian, if you are a patriot of your country, then you should you do that and nothing. Ukraine gave me everything I have, here my children were born. I have no doubt what to do in this war.
To begin with, in 2014, a so -called initiative group was created in our community, which should maintain order in the territory. That is, we have had some development in countering pirates. And when there was a misunderstanding that something was going to happen, we held a meeting and started to organize ourselves little by little.
One day we realize that active fighting has begun in Stoyanka – literally three kilometers from us. A bridge across the Irpin River was blown up there. So we went to the demarcation line, to the war zone. In front of us, next to us, were the armed forces, special groups, and, as it happened, we covered them from the very back.
Caught a suspicious, he reached for cold weapons, had to react. We found false documents with him, Russian rubles, four types of clothing (one of them is military), there are many pictures of various objects and people on his phone, diagrams of almost all checkpoints of Chaika and Pobedy Avenue, passwords, weapons, etc. They provided this scum to the police and special services. The bird is serious.
At first there was a bit of fear. However, at this time of my life I have nothing to do with this business, I am not even a hunter. Therefore, at first I was standing at checkpoints, and very close, at 800 meters, the ice exploded, when something kept flying above, when everything was burning, of course, it was pretty scary.
Plus, we didn’t immediately understand who was where, which parts of the territory we occupied, and which of the enemy. After some adaptation to the first small successes, all fear disappeared. Every day we are confident that we will drive the invaders out of our land.
I want to thank the experienced people from the community who were with me, our commanders, our military that we met. I looked at them, I saw how people’s eyes were on fire, what kind of spirit they had, and I understood that success would be ours, ”Yezersky said.
