After the 2022 World Cup final, French fans created a petition calling for a replay of the tournament’s decisive match. The authors of the document claim that the refereeing of the match was “corrupt”. The main referee of the meeting was the Polish Szymon Marciniak. At present, the petition has been signed by approximately 229,000 people.
In response, supporters of the Argentinian team created a petition titled “France, stop complaining!” with a call to stop complaining about the refereeing. It has been signed by over 700,000 people.
