General director of the All-Russian Professional Union of Football Players (OPSF) Alexander Zotov told Sport24 that he does not know the details of the postponement of the vote of the RFU executive committee on the question of the departure of the UEFA and the move to the AFC.
RFU president Alexander Dyukov said last week that the final decision on a possible transfer to the AFC would be made on December 27. Until the 31st, the RFU has time to apply for the Russian team to have time to participate in the qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Previously it became known that the vote of the RFU executive committee on this issue had again been postponed and should take place before the end of the year.
– I have no idea what the postponement of the vote of the RFU Executive Committee is connected with. We were only informed that nothing would happen today. That’s all.
We were also not informed of the reason and date of the postponement. We don’t know anything. No information was provided to us,” Zotov said.
