The term of the new agreement has not been disclosed.
French midfielder Ngolo Kante close to renewing the contract with Chelsea.
At the end of the season, Kante’s contract with the London club ends and the Blues did not plan to renew the Frenchman due to the player’s frequent injuries. However, interest in Ngolo from a number of clubs forced Chelsea to change their mind.
Due to a hamstring injury, Kante has not been on the field since August, which is why he missed the 2022 World Cup. Chelsea boss Graham Potter has said the Frenchman could return in late February or early March.
Kante has been with Chelsea since July 2016. The midfielder has only two games for the Blues this season. Barcelona and Saudi Al-Nasr were interested in the player’s services.
Chelsea are in 8th place in the Premier League standings. The Blues will also play in the Champions League playoffs in the spring.
