Children of Sandra Regina, Pelé’s two grandchildren arrived from the United States and visited their grandfather in the hospital, in São Paulo: “All together”
Sons of Sandra Regina Arantes do Nascimento Felintothe two grandchildren of Skin visited their grandfather at the Albert Einstein hospital this Wednesday, 28, in São Paulo. Octávio Felinto Neto and Gabriel Arantes do Nascimento appeared in a photo published by the aunt Kelly Nascimento.
“These moments are difficult to explain. Sometimes a lot of sadness is despair, other times we laugh and talk about fun memories. And what else we learn from all of this is that we have to reach out to each other, and hold each other close. That’s the only way it’s all worth it. With everyone together”, wrote Kelly in the publication. Flávia Arantes also appeared in the image.
The King of football has been hospitalized since November 29th at the hospital in São Paulo for treatment of cancer and a respiratory infection. Pelé’s children are taking turns visiting and shared some moments on social media.
Councilor Sandra Regina died on October 17, 2006, at the age of 42. She became known after fighting a legal battle to be recognized as the daughter of the former player. Proof of paternity took place in 1996, after a DNA test, and the surname Arantes do Nascimento was included.
Sandra was born on August 24, 1964, in Guarujá, the daughter of Pelé and maid Anízia Machado. She was elected councilor in 2000, by the PDT, in the city of Santos and approved a project for free DNA tests.
In the last bulletin released, on December 21, the hospital reported that Pelé faced a worsening in his health condition: “Admitted since November 29 for a reassessment of chemotherapy therapy for a colon tumor and treatment of a respiratory infection, Edson Arantes do Nascimento presents progression of the oncological disease and requires greater care related to renal and cardiac dysfunctions.The. The patient remains hospitalized in a common room, under the necessary care of the medical team”, says the document.

In an old interview with UOL, Pelé spoke about Sandra Regina: “Many people want to draw a parallel between Flávia’s story and that of Sandra Regina, the daughter I recognized in court. I see more differences than similarities. While Flávia sought me out to tell her everything, Sandra preferred to resort to lawyers and the press. I had never met her in person until I took the DNA test. Once, an attempt was made to approach us, but she refused. At first, she said she just wanted to use my name. When she got it, she went to court asking for money. My mother also talked to her. She advised Sandra to adopt the path of understanding, not confrontation, but some time later Sandra returned to speak through the mouth of her lawyers.
