New York Jets to donate $1 million to Ukraine

Thanks for your help and support

The New York Jets, representing the American Conference of the National Football League, will send one million dollars to support Ukraine, which repels Russia’s massive military aggression. It will be reported that the donation will be distributed among several organizations, each of which will receive $100,000.

The wife of club owner Woody Johnson, Suzanne, is an ethnic Ukrainian. Her mother Maria was born into a family of Ukrainian immigrants, and her father Stefan Ircha was from Ternopil and emigrated to the United States at the age of 21.

“My mother passed away 10 years ago and my father two years ago and he must be rolling over in his grave right now,” Johnson told AP. “That would have killed him. It’s just shocking and it’s really the only word I can think of for what’s going on today.”

Early on the morning of February 24, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia has been going on for 42 days.
