Famous actor and CSKA fan Mikhail Grushevsky admitted on Metaratings.ru that he is rather opposed to the transition from the Russian Football Union (RFU) to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
– I only know the Asian Confederation at the level of the national teams, so I find it difficult to speak. Japan and Korea teams looked very decent at the World Cup. In 2006, the Australian team under Guus Hiddink looked very decent. And Asian club football is a mystery to me.
The fact that the meeting has been postponed again may indicate that there are serious disagreements. To put it mildly, I’m not sure that’s the case when you have to vote frantically until December 31 and make a fateful decision. This solution does not seem very smart and correct to me, I am rather opposed to this option. I understand that there is no clarity on the future fate of UEFA, but there is no understanding of FIFA as a whole.
Of course, I will take any decision for granted, after all, no one held a popular vote. But I will allow myself a forecast before the New Year that this decision will be postponed until January 2 or will be put on the back burner. It seems to me that this decision will hang for the next six months.

RFU president Alexander Dyukov said last week that the final decision on a possible transfer to the AFC would be made on December 27. Until the 31st, the RFU has time to apply for the Russian team to have time to participate in the qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
