Al-Nasr head coach Rudy Garcia reacted jokingly to the transition Cristiano Ronaldo to the team.
On December 30, the club announced the conclusion of a two-year contract with Ronaldo.
“At first I tried to take Messi,” Garcia told the Daily Mail, who laughed after what was said.
As noted, such statements may not sit well with Ronaldo himself, for whom the rivalry with Lionel Messi is fundamental.
The official presentation of the 37-year-old striker at the new club is scheduled for January 3.
Ronaldo left Manchester United in November after a controversial interview in which he said he had no respect for the team’s head coach Eric ten Hag and also criticized the team.
