The tournament with the participation of teams of 16 ages was held at the Spartak Academy on December 24. The winner was a team of players born in 1988, for which, among other things, the top scorer in the history of the Russian championships and the Russian national team played Artem Dziuba .
– Egor, every year you get older, but you do not give anyone a descent in the Spartak student tournament. What is it: the genes or the laid foundations of football, which are solid even decades later?
– This is all our first coach Anatoly Fedoseevich Korolev, who raised us from the age of seven. He taught that there is only victory. I will say this: after the quarter-final defeat of the team born in 1980, there was dead silence in the locker room – everyone was upset. Before that, we reached the final three times in a row, and by the 2022 tournament, we had reached the rank of champions. So I wanted to repeat the success.
Young people are already coming to the competition: Roma Shishkin, Sashka Zotov, Sanya Prudnikov with Andrey Semenov, who plays for Akhmat, Artem Dzyuba and Maxim Kabanov, who played for Spartak in the Champions League – he still has Elber for Bayern in “nine” marked. Of course, it’s already more difficult for us, the older generation, to play. But it’s nice to see everyone healthy every year.
– Already playing in 1991. You, 46, don’t you feel like giants in front of their background?
So the organizers did everything right. In one half of the tournament grid – young people, in the other – those who are older – from 1973 to 1982 from birth. It will therefore not be possible to meet the “boys” before the final (laughs). Although if in the decisive match the older one plays with the younger one, the rhythm of the game will be completely different.
– What about skills?
– Accept! Especially when you’re playing five on five. The guys from 1983 and I played three times in a row in the final. Last year we beat them 3-0, choosing the right tactics – defending, running and scoring.
I note that we play handball goals, but we have to widen them so that everyone has a chance. Everyone plays defensively against us because they know our abilities. Without movement on the pitch it is difficult, but where can we get it today? Therefore, we try as best we can (laughs), Titov told .
