In the first game, the Ukrainian missed five set points
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina lost in the first round WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide (Australia).
For 2 hours and 37 minutes, Kalinina lost to the former first racket of the world, Victoria Azarenka.
In the starting set, the Ukrainian tennis player led 5:1, but then she lost four games in a row, without converting the set point on her serve. In the twelfth game, Kalinina missed one set point and three more in a tie-break, having won back from a score of 2-5.
Angelina started the second game with three lost games in a row, but managed to return to the game, equalizing the score in the eighth game. The Ukrainian played two match points and switched the game to a tie-break, during which she lost 1-5, played two more match points, but in the end she still lost.
Next week Kalinina will perform at the WTA 250 tournament in Hobart.
Recall that another Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk performs in Adelaide. Yesterday she reached the 1/8 finals, beating the Australian Jamie Forlis. In the second round Kostyuk will meet Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan).
