Donovan Mitchell scores 71 points to break Cleveland’s scoring record (video)

Cleveland quarterback Donovan Mitchell updated club scoring recordby typing 71 points in the NBA regular season match with Chicago (145:134, OT).

Mitchell spent 50 minutes on the court, during which he scored 71 points, gave 11 assists and made 8 rebounds and 1 block shot. Mitchell made 22 of 34 field goals (7 of 15 three-pointers) and also hit 20 of 25 free throws.

Donovan significantly surpassed the Cavaliers’ previous record, which belonged to LeBron James and Kyrie Irving – 57 points.

Mitchell also set an NBA scoring record this season. He became the 7th player in league history to score over 70 points in a game.

Cleveland is ranked 4th in the NBA Eastern Conference. On January 5, the Cavaliers host the Suns.
