General manager “Roma” Thiago Pinto answered a question about the likelihood that the head coach of the Romans Jose Mourinho will be able to manage the Portuguese national team at the same time.
Earlier, it was reported that Mourinho was the main candidate for the vacancy in the Portuguese national team after the departure of Fernando Santos.
– When you sign a contract with a coach like Jose, you have to be prepared for rumours. In the past 18 months, it’s not the first time that another club or the Football Association have shown interest in him. But we had no distractions. Our only goal was to improve the game and get back on track as quickly as possible. I am Portuguese and every time there is a change of head coach in Portugal Mourinho’s name pops up everywhere, but we hope to keep him,” Pinto said.
Roma are in seventh place in the current Italian league standings.
