Head Coach Newcastle Eddie Howe said that in the message than in the contract Cristiano Ronaldo with the Al-Nasr club there is a clause that will allow him to join the Magpies if they qualify for the Champions League, ‘no truth’.
Previous media claimed that Ronaldo had included a clause in his contract with Al Nasr which would allow him to join Newcastle if they qualified for the Champions League next season.
“We wish Cristiano every success in his endeavours, but from our point of view there is no truth in this news that mentions us,” Howe said.
Al-Nasr announced a two-year contract with Ronaldo on December 30. Earlier on Tuesday, the player successfully passed a medical examination.
In November, Ronaldo left Manchester United after a scandalous interview with journalist Piers Morgan, in which he criticized the team and head coach Eric Ten Hag.
