The Dutchman is set to replace Bayern defender Lucas Hernandez
Bavaria will sign the defender of the national team of the Netherlands Daily Blinda. Munich intend to draw up a contract before the end of the season with the option of extending for another year.
Blind flew to Munich early Thursday morning. The defender is expected to join Bayern for a training camp on Friday.
Munich are looking for a replacement for Lucas Hernandez, who was injured during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The French defender was diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament in his right knee. Lucas is expected to return no earlier than September.
Blind terminated Ikes’ contract and became a free agent effective January 1. This season, the defender has made 19 appearances for Amsterdam in all competitions, and also scored a goal and assisted in the Netherlands national team at the 2022 World Cup.
Bayern have won their last ten matches in all competitions and are top of the Bundesliga. Munich will face Leipzig on January 20 in the next match of the German championship.
