The boxer was repeatedly noted in social networks for strange actions
Ukrainian boxer, ex-world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko is in the field of view of the Ukrainian special services.
Lomachenko is reportedly under the gun because of his pro-Russian views. However, the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies did not officially announce the suspicion to the boxer.
Lomachenko has repeatedly demonstrated his commitment to the UOC-MP on social networks. Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier and public figure Yevgeny Karas, as well as the chief of staff of the Azov regiment Bogdan Krotevich, announced the “recruitment” of Lomachenko. Vasily was supported by Ukrainian boxer Ivan Redkach.
Recently, the boxer on social networks published a video interview with the Metropolitan of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate Longin. During his monologue, Longin says that “Ukraine has started a war against God, the Church of the Lord and the Ukrainian people.”
Over the summer, Lomachenko published a video interview with Metropolitan Luka of Zaporozhye and Melitopol for the BBC Russian service, who claimed that Ukrainians deserved the bombing by the Russian army. Lomachenko was also seen in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
Lomachenko has previously refused to call Russia an aggressor. After the start of a full-scale Russian invasion, the boxer joined the ranks of the territorial defense of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky.
Vice-President of the League of Professional Boxing of Ukraine Alina Shaternikova stated that Vasyl has been a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of a full-scale war.
The full-scale war between Ukraine and Russia continues for the 316th day.
