Three Ukrainians made it to the pursuit race
Women’s biathlon coach Alexander Kravchenko commented on the results of the women’s sprint race at the World Cup in Pokljuka.
“Julia [Джима] has now demonstrated its maximum, because it is still functionally not very ready. Until she recovered from her illness. And so, quite a successful performance from Julia.
“Nastya also ran well today. [Меркушина]. A little more heavy – the functional state is not very satisfactory. But I think it will be good.”
“Blashko during the first half [гонки] looked pretty good. But the second half, the finishing lap, lost a lot. Elena Bilosyuk has not yet fully recovered. That’s why we didn’t put her on the race.”
The winner of the race was Elvira Oeberg from Sweden. The best of the Ukrainians was Yulia Dzhima, who took 19th place. Anastasia Merkushina (38th place) and Daria Blashko (46th) also entered the pursuit race.
Tomorrow, January 6, the men’s sprint will take place in Pokljuka. On Saturday, January 7, pursuit races will take place, and on January 8, single-mixed and mixed relay races will take place.
