Isaac shows serious ambition
Mexican boxer Isaac Cruz announced his desire to fight with the Ukrainian, ex-world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko.
“I have four boxers in mind. First of all, I would like to fight Gervonta or Haney. Then I would like to fight Shakur Stevenson and to top it off why not fight Lomachenko.”
“I think I will be back in the ring at the end of March or beginning of April. I haven’t talked to Sean Gibbons or my team yet, but trust me, you’ll get word soon enough about who my opponent will be.”
“I’m comfortable doing two fights a year, but if I get the chance to fight three or four times, that’s fantastic. True, this is only as long as the fights that I come across are of high quality. I don’t want to fight, just to fight.”
In his last fight, Isaac Cruz knocked out Eduardo Ramirez in a WBC lightweight eliminator.
Lomachenko defeated American Jemaine Ortiz by unanimous decision – 115:113, 116:112 and 117:111. For the Ukrainian, this victory was the 17th in the professional ring.
Everyone is calling Lomachenko’s next opponent the undisputed lightweight champion of the world, Devin Haney. The duel should take place in the first half of this year, but the fight will definitely not take place during the holy month of Ramadan (from March 22 to April 20).
