FIFA did not support the initiative of the President of Ukraine
Zaporozhye Metallurgist refused to vote for the election of a symbolic FIFPRO World Team World 2021/22 in protest against pro-Russian position of FIFA.
“The club received a letter from the All-Ukrainian Association of Professional Football Players, which states that FIFA, together with FIFPRO, are currently conducting a global online vote among professional players to elect the symbolic World 11 team of the 2021/22 season.”
“The position of IFC Metallurg players on this issue is as follows: the players refuse to vote in protest against the pro-Russian position of FIFA, which did not support the initiative of the President of Ukraine and refused to speak before the final match of the World Cup in Qatar.”
“We officially announce that Metallurg players will not participate in the voting for the election of the symbolic team of the world FIFA FIFPRO World 11 season 2021/22.”
In the first part of the season, Metallurg took fourth place in Group B of the First League and made it into the group of teams that will fight for tickets to the Premier League.
