The Brazilian club tried to sign Ronaldo ahead of the Portuguese move to Al Nasr

President “Corinthians” Duiliu Monteiro Alves said the club tried to sign Cristiano Ronaldo even when the Portuguese was not leaving Manchester United.

– We made an offer a long time ago when the confusion started at Manchester United. Why not try? I spoke several times with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendez, and then with someone else. We made a salary offer equal to what he had at Manchester United, offered a two-year contract. But the offer he received from Al-Nasr was 20 times bigger,” Alves told TV Bandeirantes.

Ronaldo, 37, joined Al-Nasr from Saudi Arabia at the end of December, signing a two-year contract.
