Star Portuguese is getting closer to debut for the team from Saudi Arabia
Al Nasr ceased cooperation with the forward Vincent Abubakar by mutual agreement of the parties. The 30-year-old Cameroonian received compensation for the early termination of his contract.
The club from Saudi Arabia decided to part ways with Abubakar in order to add a rookie for the season Cristiano Ronaldo. Al-Nasr could not previously register the Portuguese due to the limit on foreign players – eight in the application.
The agreement between Ronaldo and Al-Nasr is finalized until the summer of 2025. Cristiano will earn at least 75 million euros a year. In addition to the basic salary, the income of the Portuguese can double through the sale of image rights.
Abubakar has made 12 appearances for Al-Nasr this season and has scored four goals. At the 2022 World Cup, Vincent scored twice in three matches for the Cameroon national team, including in a duel with Brazil (1: 0). Ronaldo scored one goal in five matches at the World Cup in Qatar.
After 12 matches played, Al-Nasr is in first place in the standings of the Saudi Arabian championship. In the next match, the club from Riyadh will play with Al Shabab on January 14.
