Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed the negotiations on the transfer of midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky to Marseille. According to the specialist, the team does not need to buy an additional player if the Ukrainian leaves.
“Negotiations are underway, but I don’t know if they will be successful. We do not plan to look for a replacement for him. Malinowski has been an important player this season but has been replaced by Ademola Lukman.”
Earlier it was reported that Marseille had reached an agreement with Atalanta on the transfer of the Ukrainian. The French club will pay 10 million euros plus another 3 million in bonuses.
This season, the 29-year-old Ukrainian has played 15 matches for Atalanta, scoring one goal and scoring two assists.
Atalanta are seventh in Serie A with 28 points. Gasperini’s next match will be away to Bologna on 9 January.
