Former rookie club chelsea David Fofan sent a request to FIFA asking to suspend the transfer of the Ivorian striker to the London club.
Abidjan City believe the player’s transfer to Norwegian Molde in 2021 was illegal.
“We call on FIFA to intervene in the affairs of the Chelsea club so that the transfer of the player is suspended until the dispute between the FC Molde club and us is resolved,” said the president of the city of Chelsea. Abidjan, Marco Taddei, in a statement.
20-year-old Fofan’s deal with the Londoners is calculated until 2029, the contract has the possibility of extending for one season.
Fofana made 65 appearances for Molde in all competitions, scoring 24 goals.
